How it works

How a call works

Aura by Insofy makes a call in four steps: you ask, Aura plans and asks you first, Aura calls, and Aura reports back.

Example: fictional names and details.

  1. 1. You ask.

    You
Can you call Cedar Park Dental and book me a cleaning? Sometime next week, mornings are best.
  2. 2. Aura plans, and asks first.

Aura finds the business or asks you for its number, checks the calendars it can read, and shows you the call. If a connected calendar can't be read, it says so and asks whether to place the call anyway.

    Aura
Your calendar rules out Monday, Thursday and Friday, 9 am to noon, so here's the call I'll place. Cedar Park Dental, 2140 Cedar Park Lane, (604) 555-0187: book a dental cleaning, Tuesday or Wednesday, 9 am to noon. I'll share your name, and say up front that I'm an AI assistant. Say "cancel the call" any time before it's placed. Place it?
    You
    Yes.

One yes places the call. Nothing is dialled before it.

  3. 3. Aura calls.

Aura calls from your own Insofy phone number, opens by saying it is an AI assistant calling for you, by name, and asks for a time inside the window you approved.

  4. 4. Aura reports back.

    Aura
Booked with Cedar Park Dental. Dental cleaning, Wednesday at 10:30. I've put it in your calendar.

Calls today

What Aura can book

Aura by Insofy can make two kinds of call today: an appointment, and a restaurant table for a party of a given size.

Appointments.

A cleaning, a haircut, a service visit. Aura can book under your name and shares a saved detail, such as your date of birth, only when the call you approved includes it.

How appointments work →

Tables.

Say where, when and how many. Aura calls to request a table inside the time you gave, and opens by naming itself and you.

How tables work →

When it doesn't go to plan

When a business is full, doesn't answer, or needs something only you know, Aura tells you, and books nothing outside the time you gave.

If they offer another time inside your window, Aura takes it. If they offer one outside it, Aura declines and tells you what they offered.

Example: fictional names and details.

The wording varies with the call.

Aura
Cedar Park Dental didn't answer, so nothing was booked.
Aura
Juniper Bistro couldn't book it. They're full on Saturday between 7 and 8; the earliest table they offered is 9:15.
Aura
Cedar Park Dental needs something only you can answer before they can book it. They asked for your date of birth. Tell me, and I can set up the call again.

Beyond calls

More Aura can do

Aura by Insofy also helps with your mail, your calendar, your tasks and reminders, and chat with businesses.

  • Mail.

Connect your email. Aura reads it, finds what needs an answer, and drafts replies. You decide what goes out.

  • Calendar.

Aura keeps your Insofy calendar and reads the Google calendars you connect. A booking that clashes with either is refused until you say otherwise.

  • Tasks and reminders.

"Remind me Thursday to call the plumber." Aura keeps the list and reminds you.

  • Businesses.

Message a business directly from Insofy, in the same app.

Privacy

Your data, your control

Your data in Aura by Insofy is yours to see, change and delete.

  • See what Aura has learned about you, and delete any of it, in the "What Aura knows" card.
  • Saved details such as your name or date of birth are set and removed by you, and shared on a call only when you've approved that call.
  • Each call keeps a written record. The saved details you supplied for that call are blanked out of it; other things said on the call stay in it.
  • Download your files from your Data Vault, and delete your account from your Profile page.

Your data, explained

We ask for the minimum and tell you exactly why.

When you sign in with Google, Insofy requests your basic Google profile for a single purpose: to create and secure your account. Connecting a Google account for mail and calendar is a separate, optional step. We don't sell your information, and you stay in control of it.

When you sign in with Google, we access:

  • Your name: to set up and personalize your account.
  • Your email address: to identify your account and send essential notices.
  • Your profile picture: to display your avatar in the app (optional).

If you choose to connect a Google account, Aura reads, finds and summarizes your mail when you ask, sends an email only after you approve its recipient, subject and text, saves drafts, and shows and changes your calendar events when you ask. When you connect, Insofy also reads your sent mail from the last 90 days and your calendar to learn facts that help Aura assist you. Only the facts are kept, and you can see and delete them. Connecting is optional, and you can disconnect at any time from Settings.

What we never do:

  • Sell or rent your personal data
  • Read email from an inbox without your permission

You can access, correct, or delete your data, and revoke access, at any time. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
